Polyamide 66 Market Overview

PA 66 Supply Analysis

The global Polyamide 66 capacity stood at around 5,200 kilo tons in 2025, an average growth of 5% since 2018. Asia Pacific is the largest PA 66 producer, accounting for over 60% of the market, with China being the largest producer with installed capacity of 2,950 kilo tons in 2025 and a presence of more than 20 manufacturing facilities. In China, Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group Co., Ltd., Chongqing Huafeng, Zhijiang Hubein Sanning, Tianchen Qixiang are some of the largest players with 400 kilo tons, 300 kilo tons, 200 kilo tons and 200 kilo tons capacity respectively. Shandong Juheshun New Materials Co., Ltd. Has announced the start of a new PA 66 plant by mid-2026. Shandong Longhua Polymer Materials Co., Ltd is currently in the process of constructing a 1,080 kilo tons PA 66 plant. The plant is scheduled to start production by 2028, and the construction will take place in three phases, with each phase lasting two years. The first phase will have an annual output of 160 kilo tons, the second phase will add another 320 kilo tons and the final phase an additional 600 kilo tons. 

The North America PA 66 capacity stood at 1,300 kilo tons with USA accounting for over 90%. Ascend Performance Materials is the largest manufacturer in the US with 2 production units located in Pensacola, FL and Greenwood, SC and combined capacity of 690 kilo tons. INVISTA, Celanese (Dupont), Kordsa (INVISTA) are the other manufacturing facilities with a combined capacity of 498 kilo tons. The PA 66 capacity in Western Europe stood at 550 kilo tons with Germany ranking first with a capacity of 237 kilo tons. BASF operates a 117 kilo tons plant in Freiburg and a 90 kilo tons plant in Ludwigshafen. DOMO is the sole manufacturer in Spain with a 30 kilo tons plant in Blanes, Spain. Other manufacturers in the region include 90 kilo tons plant in Novora, Italy and a 90 kilo tons plant in Rozenburg, Netherlands.

PA 66 Demand, by Application 

The global PA66 market is segmented by applications which include automotive, electrical & electronics, packaging/film, industrial, textiles, consumer goods & appliances, and others. 
In 2025, the automotive sector accounted for the highest share of 40%. Automotive companies use PA66 in making engine covers, air intake manifolds, radiator end tanks, fuel system components, under-the-hood components and more. In the automotive industry, PA 66 is used to withstand high temperatures, mechanical stresses and exposure to automotive fluids. Asia Pacific on the back of China is the largest PA 66 producer and consumer in 2025. The Asia Pacific accounted for nearly 40% of the global polyamide 66 market with China holding around 75% of the region PA 66 demand and 25% of global demand. During the forecast period polyamide 66 demand in Asia Pacific is projected to reach 1600 kilo tons, registering a CAGR of 6% during 2026-2034.
