In high-temperature environments, PSAs can show reduced adhesion properties and increased softening at higher temperatures. Many Pressure Sensitive Adhesives have a relatively low glass transition temperature (Tg), which is the temperature at which the adhesive transitions from a rigid to a rubbery state. As the temperature rises above the Tg, the adhesive becomes softer and is unable to maintain its adhesion. In applications where high temperatures are found, such as automotive under-the-hood parts or electronic devices, the performance of PSAs may be compromised which can hinder its market growth in the coming years.
